Profile
Judy Tricker is a Melbourne-based contemporary artist whose practice is intuitive, experimental and inspired by the natural world. Drawn to colour, texture, organic forms, and the beauty of imperfection, she lets her work evolve through curiosity, exploration, and a willingness to embrace the unexpected.
Working primarily with acrylics and mixed media, Judy enjoys experimenting with a diverse range of materials and processes, including Victorian earth pigments, soy milk painting, botanical techniques, collage and printmaking. Texture is central to her practice, with layered surfaces, expressive marks and unexpected discoveries contributing to the individuality of each artwork.
For Judy, art is as much about the experience of creating as it is about the finished piece. Her approach is intuitive and deeply personal, guided by a love of nature, colour and the freedom to explore without predetermined outcomes.
This philosophy extends beyond her own art practice into her work as a creative facilitator, where she encourages others to reconnect with their creativity, trust their intuition and discover the joy of making art in their own way.
Creative Reboot
Founder & Facilitator
Creative Reboot is a six-session creative development experience developed by Judy to help people rediscover their creativity and reconnect with their own creative potential.
More than a traditional art class, Creative Reboot offers participants the opportunity to explore their creativity in a supportive, non-judgemental environment. Through playful exercises, mark-making, colour exploration, intuition and reflection, participants are encouraged to quieten their inner critic, challenge limiting beliefs and develop confidence in their own creative expression.
Judy believes creativity is not reserved for a select few, nor is it measured by artistic skill. It is an opportunity for discovery, self-expression and personal growth.
She intends to help people give themselves permission to experiment, embrace imperfection and experience the freedom and joy of creating from the heart.

Judy Tricker — Art from the Heart
About me
Artists Statement
Six years ago, I walked into an art course believing I couldn’t paint, couldn’t draw, and didn’t have a creative bone in my body.
I discovered not only creativity, but also the importance of trusting my intuition, quieting my inner critic, and letting go of the limiting beliefs I had carried for years.
Today, I am an intuitive abstract artist inspired by nature—the sea, rocks, landscapes, colour and, above all, texture. My work is eclectic because I love exploring different materials, ideas and processes, but texture and layering are the threads that connect it all.
I rarely begin with a plan. When I am creating, I become deeply absorbed in the moment. Rather than deciding where a piece should go, I look at what is in front of me and, in a way, ask the artwork what it wants next. Then I follow.
I may not know how a work will eventually look, but I do know it will probably involve layers, texture, a mixture of materials, experimentation, and a few surprises along the way.
For me, art is less about knowing where I am going and more about trusting the journey.
